Examples of lab tests you might need at some point include blood tests, stool tests, urine tests, nasal or throat swabs, and tissue biopsies. Lab assessments aren’t cheap at many medical practices, but are important to diagnose medical problems and offer you the best treatment. That’s why Dr. Pathak and his staff offer lab procedures and analyses at discounted rates through cash based and membership based platforms.

Why might I need discounted labs?

Discounted labs allow the Unifying Health Center team to diagnose many types of illnesses and disease, including:

  • Flu and COVID-19
  • Strep throat
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Colon cancer
  • Skin cancer
  • Cervical cancer

  • Gonorrhea: Swab of genital area or urine sample.

What should I expect during my appointment?

When you arrive for an evaluation at Unifying Health Center, friendly staff members greet you. They often complete the following steps during medical evaluations and diagnostic testing:

Vital signs check

Medical providers assess your pulse, blood pressure, body weight, and other vital signs during the vital signs check portion of your evaluation.

Medical history review

Dr. Pathak discusses your medical history. This includes current and past diagnoses, medications you’re taking, family history of disease, and symptoms you might have.

Medical evaluation

During a medical examination, Dr. Pathak evaluates your eyes, ears, throat, breathing, reflexes, and heartbeat. He looks for signs of medical conditions that may warrant discounted lab testing.

Diagnostic testing

The diagnostic testing portion of a medical evaluation may include blood tests, stool tests, urine tests, nasal or throat swabs, or tissue biopsies. These tests are all noninvasive, so you can expect little to no discomfort during each procedure.

Dr. Pathak numbs the treatment area before completing a tissue biopsy, which is a procedure in which he takes a tissue sample and sends it to a lab for analysis.

What happens when I get my lab test results?

You can expect discounted lab test results the same day as your appointment or a day or two later. Dr. Pathak discusses the results with you and may recommend additional diagnostic testing, prescription medications, injections, or other treatments as needed to maximize your health and reduce the risk of complications.
